Norfolk Police: Telephone Scam

Norfolk Police are urging us to be vigilant against a scam reported in our area, where victims are being contacted by a person pretending to be a police officer.

The police will never ask you to attend a bank to withdraw a large sum of money, nor arrange a courier to come to your house and collect it. Scammers may make you feel essential to the investigation and encourage you not to speak to family, friends or the bank staff about it.
